Ogden Memorial is looking to fill a vacancy for a part-time pianist to play on Sunday mornings and for special worship services.
General Description
The pianist/musician (musician) plays an important role in the worship life of Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church. The musician plays the piano/organ and accompanies the choir, praise band, solos, and others as needed.
Who We Are
Ogden Memorial UMC is located at 305 W. Main Street in Princeton, Ky. Ogden Memorial is a historic church that was founded in 1818. Our focus is on making disciples of Jesus Christ in Princeton, Ky., and around the world. We offer a blended style of worship that includes a praise band and choir. Our Sunday School meets at 9 a.m., and worship is at 10 a.m.

What We Are Looking For in a Pianist
The musician will be of strong Christian character, be compatible in a working and productive relationship with the Pastor, Director of Music Ministries, and choir/praise band, and be competent in the understanding of how to play the piano/organ in a worshipful manner and be able to accompany soloists/choirs. We also believe the musician should support the values and vision of Ogden Memorial and do all they can to advance the ministries of the church.
What Would Be Your Responsibilities
The musician will work with the Director of Music Ministries and the Pastor to help plan worship on a weekly basis. They will be responsible for coordinating selected music to fit with the worship service in conversation with the Pastor and Director of Music Ministries. Music selections and placement in the service will vary based upon the needs of the service. The musician will typically play the prelude, postlude, offertory, anthems, doxology, congregational response, and a hymn during the service. The musician will be available to play, if requested, for weddings and funerals at the church.
What Would Be Your Time Commitment
The musician should be at Ogden Memorial on Sunday mornings by 9:30 a.m., in order to prepare for the choir rehearsal. They will also be asked to play for choir practices that are currently held on Wednesday evenings. The musician will serve on the Worship Team and will meet with the Pastor and Director of Music Ministries as requested.
Compensation will be discussed between the Pastor and SPRC and will be paid on a monthly basis. This is a part-time position with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.
